Meg Gallagher is a New Zealand contemporary artist whose practice brings together painting and reclaimed textiles.

Her work is informed by a long-standing knowledge of denim and textile construction, using processes of material transformation to create surfaces that feel tactile, fluid and alive.

Drawing on the beauty and physicality of the natural world, Gallagher explores touch, movement, intimacy and the chemistry of contact, the way bodies, materials and landscapes are altered through encounter, weathering and time.

Her paintings hold a tension between softness and erosion, control and release, allowing change and imperfection to remain visible within the work.

Original works are available to collectors in New Zealand and internationally, with commissions currently open.
